Campaign for 2008

Thank you for visiting my web site. I am back in the fray getting my campaign geared up for November 2008! We have an open seat this time around, and many of the issues I talked about in 2006 are still important issues to Missourians today.

The republicans are in control of all branches of Missouri state government. If a St. Louis billionaire has his way, they will stay in control. Rex Siquefield has found a way around Missouri laws to limit campaign contributions of $325 to candidates for state representative. PAC man Rex has created 100 different PAC's so he can contribute 100 times the legal limit of $325. My republican opponent is another retired teacher from a NAPE group here in Missouri. She will vote the republican agenda such as vouchers for private schools. Public education will be under attack and so will the interests of working men and women.

I need your help! Please contribute what you can afford to my campaign today and please ask your friends to do the same.

About the Candidate

Don Salcedo is the democratic candidate for Missouri State Representative from District 20 in Callaway County.

Don grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he attended public schools. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a degree in education. Don taught school until he left the classroom in 1975 to become a professional staff employee of the NEA in the Virginia affiliate. After working in three other state affiliates of the NEA for 20 years, Don came back to Missouri. In 1995 Don moved his family back to Missouri in Fulton. Don and his wife, Nancy, have six children; their two youngest graduated from Fulton High School.

Don's advocacy for children and their health and welfare is genuine and sincere.

If elected, Don will
  • Work to provide adequate funding for public schools in Missouri

  • Work to provide access to quality health care for all Missouri citizens

  • Work to move state employees salaries from 50th in the nation up to the national average

  • Work to protect family farms and keep corporate factory farms from moving into Callaway County and Missouri.
