Callaway County Fair

What better place for us to meet than the Callaway County Fair? This years Fair runs from August 1 - 5, and I'll be available all weekend to talk politics. Stop by my tent for a scrap of shade, a swig of cool water, and a willing ear. See you soon.

Challenge

My campaign just issued this press release and challenge to my opponent.

Don Salcedo, District 20 Democratic candidate for state representative, challenges his opponent to support both the stem cell research and minimum wage ballot initiatives that will be voted on in November.

Salcedo believes that "It is an ethical imperative to help fellow human beings by carrying out research on disabling diseases. To cure the sick is a classic example of what it means to help other people."

Salcedo also believes that "Too many Missouri families are living in poverty because the current minimum wage is not a living wage."

Salcedo states that "Finding cures for the sick and helping families live above the federal povery limit is the decent human thing to do and should not be a matter of politics."

Vote for change

People run for public office for many different reasons. For me, it is the conservative Republican agenda which aims to dismantle our public schools, and the attempt to support private schools with public tax dollars.
I believe that state government should play a positive role in our communities and in the lives of citizens. We are a nation of immigrants, and it is a moral obligation for us to promote the public school system which has integrated each new generation of immigrants into society during our history.
If you believe as I do that politics should be about serving the needs and concerns of the people, and not about money and power, then join our campaign and vote for change in November.

Celebrate Independence Day

This Fourth of July holiday, I hope you have a chance to reflect on the principles our country was founded under.
